Product information "Titan | Hop pellets Type 90"

Titan Hops – German High Alpha Hops with High-Quality Bitterness

Titan is a modern German high alpha hop variety developed at the Hüll Hop Research Center. Bred from Polaris, Titan was developed with a focus on high-quality bitterness and stable alpha acid levels. It is an excellent choice as an efficient bittering hop while also providing a subtle, classic hop character to the beer.

Titan Hops – Characteristics and Aroma

With a typical alpha acid range of 14–20%, Titan belongs to the powerful German high alpha hop varieties. Its bitterness is known for its high quality, harmonious character and pleasant finish. In beer, Titan provides a subtle and classic hop aroma complemented by fruity and slightly menthol-like notes.

  • Origin: Germany, Hüll Hop Research Center
  • Hop type: High alpha / bittering hop
  • Alpha acids: approx. 14–20%
  • Beta acids: approx. 4.0–5.5%
  • Total oil: approx. 2.4–4.0 ml/100 g
  • Aroma: hoppy, spicy, sweet fruit, menthol, resinous and woody
  • Use: bittering additions and classic hop additions

Titan Bitterness and Aroma Profile

Titan is particularly valued for its high-quality bitterness. The bitterness develops clearly during the drinking experience and then fades in a smooth and pleasant way. This makes Titan a suitable choice for beers that require a clearly defined, pronounced yet balanced bitterness.

The aroma profile remains relatively subtle in beer. Classic hoppy base notes are supported by sweet fruit aromas and a slight menthol character. Depending on the brewing process and application, spicy as well as resinous and woody nuances may also become noticeable.

Which Beers Are Suitable for Titan Hops?

As a German high alpha hop variety, Titan is particularly suitable for beer styles that require an efficient and distinctive bittering addition. Its restrained aroma allows it to be used flexibly without overpowering the desired character of the beer.

  • Pilsner and German lager beers
  • Helles and Export
  • Bock and strong beers
  • Other bottom-fermented and top-fermented beer styles requiring pronounced bitterness
