Frequently Asked Questions

Hops should always be stored in a cool (0 to 4°C), dry, and dark place to preserve their aroma and bittering compounds. Airtight or vacuum-sealed packaging stored in a refrigerator or freezer provides the best protection against oxygen, heat, and light. Proper storage helps maintain freshness and brewing quality for a much longer time. For the best results, reseal opened packages as tightly as possible.

The shelf life of hops depends on the packaging and storage conditions. Vacuum-sealed hops stored in a cool environment can maintain excellent quality for many months or even several years. Once opened, hops should be resealed airtight and used as soon as possible. Keeping hops refrigerated or frozen helps preserve their aroma and brewing performance.
Raw Hops: less than 1 year
Vaccumed raw hops: 5 to 7 years
Hop Pellets: 5 to 7 years
Hop Extract: more than 10 years

The best hop variety depends on the beer style and the flavor profile you want to achieve. Aroma hops provide fruity, floral, spicy, or citrus notes, while bittering hops contribute most of the beer's bitterness. Many brewing recipes combine multiple hop varieties for a balanced result. Our product descriptions include information about aroma characteristics, alpha acids, and recommended beer styles.

The alpha acid content indicates the bittering potential of a hop variety. During the brewing process, alpha acids are converted into compounds that create the characteristic bitterness of beer. A higher alpha acid percentage does not necessarily mean better quality—it simply means greater bittering power. Brewers use this value to calculate hop additions and recipe formulation.

Whole cone hops are the dried hop flowers in their natural form, while hop pellets are made by milling and compressing the cones into small pellets. Pellets are easier to store, measure, and use in most brewing systems. Both forms offer excellent quality and can produce outstanding beer. The right choice depends on your brewing method and personal preference.

Orders are processed promptly after payment has been received. Delivery times depend on the destination and the selected shipping method. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive tracking information to monitor your delivery. Up-to-date shipping information is available on our shipping page.

Ordering larger quantities can help reduce shipping costs and ensure you always have fresh hops available for future brews. Many customers choose to purchase multiple hop varieties or larger packs at once. Shipping costs and any available shipping benefits are displayed during checkout. This makes it easy to find the most cost-effective option for your order.

Our hops come from carefully selected growing regions known for producing high-quality hops under ideal conditions. We focus on consistent quality, careful sourcing, and gentle processing to preserve the natural aroma of every variety. The origin of each hop variety is listed on the corresponding product page. This ensures complete transparency about the products you purchase.

We maintain high product quality through careful selection, gentle processing, and regular quality control procedures. Depending on the product, important characteristics such as aroma, moisture, and overall quality are carefully monitored. This ensures consistently fresh hops with reliable brewing performance. Our goal is to provide premium hop products that meet the expectations of both homebrewers and professional breweries.

Yes, our hop products are vacuum sealed or aroma-protected whenever appropriate for the specific product. This packaging minimizes oxidation and helps preserve freshness, aroma, and quality during storage. Vacuum sealing also extends shelf life and protects the valuable hop oils. Product-specific packaging information can always be found on the individual product page.
