Perle hop, a classic from the Hallertau, delivers a finely spiced aroma with notes of apricot and citrus. Ideal for smooth bitterness in both traditional and modern beers.
€20.23*
Perle hop is one of the most established German aroma hop varieties and a true hallmark of the Hallertau region. Officially approved in 1978, it has been prized for decades for its spicy-fine aroma profile, excellent cultivation properties, and wide popularity – with over 3,000 hectares currently under cultivation across Germany.
A genetic cross with Northern Brewer gives this variety not only robust yields but also relatively high alpha acid levels – making it ideal for beers with a gently balanced bitterness. The aroma delights with notes of apricot, honey, fresh hay, and citrus – perfect for traditional styles like Helles, Lager, or modern craft interpretations.
Processed as Type 45 pellets, Perle hop is particularly well-suited for late hop additions and ideal for brewers seeking to bring natural depth and elegance to their beers.
